FHE is actively deployed, yet its IND-CPA(-D) security relies on the assumptions of its security game, hard to satisfy in practice. Reaction attacks, where an adversary only sees whether the client accepts the decryption, exploit this gap in exact schemes like TFHE and BGV. We extend and enhance this attack to CKKS, recovering the secret key with nearly information-theoretically optimal queries. Secure deployment, not only for CKKS but for all FHE schemes, must thus enforce these assumptions, e.g., by blocking reaction leakage or using verifiable FHE.
